6 Rounds Swiss System Chess Tournament (no elimination.)

Girls from public, private and home-schools are invited to participate. Teams will compete within the following age categories: 8 years old and younger; 10 years old and younger; 12 years old and younger; 14 years old and younger; 16 years old and younger; 18 years old and younger. Ages as of 4/1/2008

USCF rated. USCF membership is required. 6 separate sections

Winner of the 18 years old and younger section wins an Academic Distinction Scholarship to The University of Texas at Dallas. The scholarship is valued at $68,000 for an out-of-state student. More information on the scholarship can be found at http://www.chess.utdallas.edu  

Enjoy a UTD Campus Tour Friday afternoon April 25. A shuttle will leave the hotel at 1:30 pm. The tour will be from 2-3 pm. The shuttle will return to the hotel at approximately 3:30 pm. Trophies to top 15 individuals and top 3 teams in each section

Top 3 players in the section is added for team scores. All players will receive a souvenir medal to honor their participation.

Special Appearance by Irina Krush

Reigning US Women’s champion, International Master Irina Krush, the youngest ever (at age 14) U.S. Women’s Champion, 4-time member of the U.S. Women’s Olympiad Team and Silver medallist of the 2004 U.S. Women’s Olympiad Team, will perform a simultaneous exhibition versus participants of the All Girls Nationals. The simultaneous exhibition will be held on Fri., April 25 at 7:00 P.M. at Marriott Dallas/Addison Quorum by the Galleria. Irina will also be on hand throughout the tournament and at the awards ceremony.

Team Tiebreaks: Total individual cumulative, Total Solkoff, Total Sonnenborn-Berge, Total Kashdan.

Latest version of Swiss Sys will be used. Pairings created by this program are considered legal and may stand even if a pairing is not ideal. This is especially true if pairings have been posted. Current version is 7.5
