QUALIFICATION :
The most important qualification I possess is my vast experience in the arena of scholastic chess. My years of experience in this profession have produced a resume that has shown both the ability to produce chess programs quickly (especially special events) and the opening up of new and exciting possibilities. Some of the organizations I have worked with are: Chess in the Schools, Manhattan Chess Club, The Right Move, Sports and Arts in the Schools, The New York Public Library, Chase Manhattan Bank, The New York Public School System, The Children of Chernobyl Fund, and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (U. N. I. C. E. F.). In addition I have also instructed, worked with, or have had a relationships with, all of the major chess programs in New York, Westchester, and Connecticut. Schools that I have worked with: C.E.S. 70, Wooster School, P. S. 9, Horace Mann, and countless others. Also, in addition I have tournament directing experience. Tournaments I directed are: The Right Move monthly scholastic tournaments, P. S. 9 tournaments, Murphy and Manhattan Chess Club International tournament (Assistant International Arbiter) and the Children Of Chernobyl Fund, U. N. I. C. E. F. (featuring, World Champion Anatoly Karpov ), The New York City Public and Private High School League and literally hundreds of beginners tournaments .

My belief in the mission of scholastic chess has helped me developed the discipline to get the job done regardless of obstacles. My flexibility and the ability to work with different people have produced quality programs no matter where they lay. I go where I am needed, I do what is needed, I use what is at hand, and I get the desired result, usually under budget (I have a certain pride as far as that is concerned). Chess has the ability to teach children to think it is therefore imperative to get this important tool to all of our children.

In my years of working in scholastic chess I have developed a very valuable network of chess educators both teachers and sponsors. I also have contacts in various school districts both affluent and disadvantaged. I know intimately what sponsors, chess coaches, and the children want and need. In addition, I am a Life National Master and have 2280 F.I. D. E. international rating.
