Dear Chess Friends,
I am writing to ask you to please send a note to the Editor of People Magazine commending their wonderful story about Josh Waitzkin (2/17/03 page 136). Getting chess more into the mainstream is important for continued strength in our chess clubs and groups. I think that when we get any publicity we should give some commendation to the editor so that we may get more articles promoting chess and more chess members! I intend on using this wonderful article in People to try to persuade the Cartoon Network to hire Josh to help plan a Dexter's Laboratory Chess Cartoon. This People article makes selling Josh a lot easier for me, and maybe for the TNT executives too. (I am still trying to get the Cartoon Network to draw Dexter's Laboratory with a chess story line; The Cartoon Network 1050 Techwood Drive, Atlanta, GA 30318 if you want to help there too.PERSISTENCE BREAKS RESISTANCE! )
SO PLEASE WRITE TO:  EDITOR@PEOPLE.COM and you will get back an auto reply. Be sure to put Josh Waitzkin's name in the subject line as they might not open your mail. I have pasted the note that I sent to People below.
Thank-you for your help in promoting chess!
Sincerely,

Mrs. Kelly Jacobs
