I seem to recall the Dallas Chess Club sponsoring an annual event, the Dallas Open, once a year in October. Is that still the case? If not, does the DCC plan on sponsoring any major chess tournaments this year?

Dear DCC folks:
I played in my first DCC tournament last night at the DCC G/25 last (Tuesday) night. I write to thank DCC for an enjoyable experience during the tournament. The players were uniformly courteous, and the tournament was managed in a way that was both efficient and informal. I'll come again, when work permits, but I wanted to leave a note to say I appreciate a well-run tournament.
Best, Robert Nunnally

i haven't been to dcc for more than 4 weeks. this has been the longest since i first started coming. i'm very bad at chess so i think i will just stay on icc when i have my 2100 bullet rating. :) i might come back in a few months, but if i don't, my only rival (zach) can possibly make me go. this site is great, wish i could have gone to region 3 and lose all my games. okey dokey. bye. i'm Geochess (over 17,000 games played here) on ICC

College is starting! I was 12 years old playing for St. Mark's just a while ago. It's good to see that the club is doing well; quite a contrast with the population of youth compared to the days in Richardson. Back then it seemed to be only Matthew, Ira, Jonathan, Steven and myself. It's too bad that I was never able to see the new location before moving to the San Francisco area.
Before I stopped playing I was able to play and talk with Vinay and Jordy quite often. An enlightening experience it was. My best chess moments were probably spent in the DCC and SACS (Mr. Gallagher and Co.) and in the Bay Area it wasn't fun to play anymore. I wanted to thank you all for shaping me into a successful and happy kid (so far) through a simple yet intricate game.
Luis, Igor, Mr. Bradford, Smeltzer and everyone else of the old club - take care.
